Artist Statement:

I began working with glass after taking my first lampworking class in 2004. The process of creating beads from glass rods, and a torch continues to fascinate me. It is mesmerizing to watch the glass melt and flow in the flame of the torch. Each bead is a new adventure as I take this flowing glass and create form, texture, color and light, in the flame. I love experimenting with various reactive glasses while sometimes incorporating other materials such as metals, enamels and pixie dust. My beads are mostly organic and I get my inspiration from the colors and textures of both nature and textiles. I also design finished jewelry using the beads that I have created along with silver, enamel and other materials. I hope you enjoy my beads and jewelry as much as I love creating them.
