Artist Statement:
When I was young, I liked working with my hands. Some day I hoped to be a professional orange peeler or to work on the Love Boat. Now, I teach math and physics and try to find time to experiment in my studio. It is filled with Barbies, glass, torches, saws, origami, my great grandmother’s quilting scraps, buttons, grinders, tumblers, and my husbands yummy microbrew. I make stained glass, glass beads, silver jewelry, and finished beaded jewelry. The only thing difficult about having all these hobbies is picking which one to work on. That is what makes the guild so great! They truly are an inspiration. They make me forget how messy my house is or papers I have to grade. Each piece I make is unique and fun to make.
